Rawlins Civics 101 - Governance
(Introduction)
Comments on the technical form and function of governments affecting Rawlins, Wyoming.

The concepts and discussions of this page are accurately cited in proper context conforming to appropriate time and place.  If you have disageements or note any error, Let's Talk!

The evolution of circumstances leading to "The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America" is critically important when considering "government" in "America". Individual rights and self-governance were minority opinions among the American Colonists during our rebellion.

When the advocates of individual rights and self-governance successfully drove the powers of monarchy from America, the fundamental principals declared by the new States gained credence among the rulers and the ruled of the Western world. More significantly, they drove powerful roots for the newly planted free society of America.

The contradictions of principle and practice have continually challenged Americans. In many ways, by 2025, we have lost the challenge. With our 250th aniversary upon us, it might be prudent to consider options for our Rawlins community.

Our past is unalterably fixed. Our present is increasingly uncertain. Our future is unfathomable.
We are Rawlins. We have options. - If we talk.

This commentary is intended to inform us, help us learn from our past and develop a pragmatic situational awareness as we observe our future approaching.
